Balthazar of the Barossa
Balthazar was the last of the Babylonian Kings, who incurred God's wrath by ordering the drinking of wine out of holy silver and gold chalices. Legend dictates that while Balthazar, his wives and concubines feasted and drank wine, the Persians invaded, bringing an end to Babylonian rule. The first Balthazar of the Barossa vines were planted by winemaker Anita Bowen in 1998 on what was an original 19th century vineyard. The shiraz vines were painstakingly sourced from one of the oldest known vineyards in the Barossa Valley, whose origins date back to 1847.
The 75-acre Balthazar of the Barossa vineyard is located on Stonewell Rd, Marananga, in South Australia's celebrated Barossa Valley region. Re-planted in 1999 the winery grows Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Merlot, Chardonnay and Viognier.
The vines are nurtured with hand-pruning and an array of sustainable practices, including recycled and organic mulching and minimal irrigation from the vineyard's custom-designed "eco-dam" to achieve premium quality wine grapes. The result is small parcels of grapes bearing rich intensity of flavour, brilliant colour, inherent balance and optimal ripeness. |

Digger's Bluff
As the fourth generation of his family to be involved in the wine business, Tim O'Callaghan cut his teeth with some of the wine making greats both in the Barossa and Hunter Valleys, including a number of years working alongside his father at Rockford Wines. All of this experience and knowledge convinced Tim that he wanted to make quality wine that represented the Barossa, its soils and its seasonal variations.
Tim has spent the last 6 years rebuilding old vineyards, planting new ones and making wine. He pruned, picked, fermented, pressed and labeled his wine with his own hands. Because the wine is aged in his cellar for 6 years it's showing real bottle age and is drinking beautifully. Tim's goal is to continue to make high quality aged Barossa wine and sell it to a small group of loyal customers.
The name "Diggers Bluff" came about because Tim happens to own the world's greatest dog. He was born on Anzac day, so Tim named him Digger, together they live on a windy bluff over-looking Seppeltsfield vineyards. There are only small quantities of this wine, with the next 5 vintages safely in the cellar. Although he will be adding to this label, "Watchdog" will always be a rare and special wine. |

Kooyong Wines
The Kooyong vineyard and winery are located at Tuerong on the northern end of the Mornington Peninsula, south of Melbourne, Australia. In 1995, Kooyong was established on a gently undulating 93 hectare property neighbouring Devilbend Reserve, and home to many native water birds. The Kooyong name means 'where the wild fowl gather'. The vineyard and winery are part of the Gjergja family domain which also includes Port Phillip Estate.
Compared with more southerly vineyards on the Mornington Peninsula, Kooyong experiences a warmer, drier climate, and the light, sandy clay soil is also less vigorous than the more typical rich loam of the region. |

Willow Bridge Estate
Willow Bridge Estate is a family owned business that is operated by principals Jeff and Vicki Dewar, who bought the picturesque 180-hectare hillside property in 1996. From day one, the family shared a vision to produce premium quality varietal wines for both domestic and international markets.
The Estate is located in a hidden jewel of the winemaking region of south-west Western Australia called the Ferguson Valley. The environment, climate and soil types sets the area apart from the more traditional wine growing regions of the state and provides an environmental combination never previously utilized for the production of premium wines.
The appointment of respected winemaker David Crawford has been another vital part of ensuring the family's vision comes to fruition. Incorporating the highest standards of quality control, and a state of the art winery that is capable of handling up to 1200 tonnes from the estate plantings, the wine styles are classic Australian, with fresh up-front fruit, soft elegant mid-palates and good length of fruit flavours. |
